“clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us,

written not with ink  but by the Spirit of the living God, not on

tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”

2 Corinthians 3:3

You’ll be surprised how many children of God are still being controlled by sin today. They do not see the importance of living a holy life in front of the world. They think that a little compromise here and there will not hurt them. What they don’t realize is that it will destroy not only their faith but also their confidence in coming to God in times of need. Then they feel guilty and numbed with shame, not knowing what to do or say. This kind of sin cycle only leads to destructive consequences.

You can’t hide from your true self. If you are a sinner, you will always be a sinner until Christ intervenes. If you are an alcoholic, you will always be an alcoholic until Christ intervenes. If you are a pornographer, you will always be a pornographer until Christ intervenes. If you are an emotional and angry person, you will always be an emotional and angry person until Christ intervenes. Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Father only intervene in your life by your invitation. God will never intrude into your life unless you ask Him to.

That is why it is high time to be real. How we live our lives in secret is revealed in how we act in the open. We can’t pretend to be holy in front of people if we don’t live holy in private. Why not? No matter how good you try to hide it, people read our spirit. Our spirit doesn’t lie. The writer of Proverbs puts it this way: “The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” (Proverbs 20:27) And Jesus said that whatever we do in secret would be shouted out on the housetops. So you see, wherever you go, your spirit tells on who you are to other people, without you saying a word. If you are a man or woman of truth who lives by the integrity of God’s Word and lives close to Him, other people, including the devil, know it. They know it without you even saying a word. Why? Because the light of Christ in you just radiates from the inside of you. And having the glory of God shining out of you is as real as it gets for God to change the world through you.
