Reset Your Affection

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above,

where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind

on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Colossians 3:1-2

To live the life God intended for you to live, you must learn to set your affection at another level. A level that I would call the “Heavenly Level.” The Word of God said to seek after those things which are above.  But a lot of God’s children have been seeking those things that are on the earth. They are after money, possessions, wealth, prestige, power, etc., on an earthly level instead of on the heavenly level. These earthly things may satisfy them momentarily, but they will never give them eternal gratification. So, does that mean that God doesn’t want me to have a bank account and all other things that pertain to this life?

It simply receives what it needs — sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil — and everything else happens naturally. The healthy sap flowing within the tree is filled with life-giving nutrients, pushing out the dead leaves and making room for new growth.
