“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times,

having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

2 Corinthians 9:8

The financial bills are staring at you from the table. The refrigerator is empty, and with the lack of food supply, you don’t have enough money to purchase with. You can’t afford the school supplies for your kids who are in desperate need of them. Your car just recently broke down, and you have no means to get to work but to take the bus. Your medical bills demand your attention. You are behind with your mortgage for several months and are afraid that you might lose your home. Your boss decided to lay you off because the company is downsizing. Your spouse decides to leave you and care for your children alone. You are stressed out, and it is affecting your health. You are wondering…where is God? Is it so hard to live a blessed life?

The answer to that question depends on how you view or perceive who Jesus is in your life. Do you see Him as the Jesus who doesn’t care that you are suffering from a lack, or the Jesus who fed the thousands in the wilderness with just a few bread and fish? Do you see Jesus as cold and distant from you, or the Jesus who is willing to walk the stormy sea to get to you? Do you see Jesus as not understanding the feeling of not having enough, or the Jesus who sees the multitude of fish under the sea and guides all of them to the nets of His disciples? You might say, if it is easy for God to bless me, then why hasn’t He? Why is my life as a Christian this difficult?

Again, God wants you not to focus on the storm of life. He wants you to see Him in your storm. He wants you to see Jesus commanding your storm to be still. He wants you to see that Jesus has paid off all your financial debts according to His riches in glory. Jesus did the impossible by taking away all of your sins and giving you a clean start every time you fail. It is easy for Him to bless you and for you to receive His blessing today. God spared not His Son for you, will He not give you all things you ever need in this life? Yes, He will, as you praise Him and place your life in His capable hands. You will see breakthroughs in your finances, your job, your health, and your future. In Jesus, being blessed is easy.
