He Cares for Your Concerns
“The LORD will perfect that which concerns me.”
Psalm 138:8
An average person has around 60,000 thoughts per day, with a significant portion of those being worries or repetitive negative thoughts, and some research suggests an average person might experience around 34 unique worries per day. Excessive worrying can significantly impact a person’s mental and physical health by triggering the body’s stress response, leading to symptoms like increased heart rate, muscle tension, difficulty sleeping, headaches, digestive issues, a weakened immune system, and even impacting cognitive function, potentially contributing to anxiety and depression if left unmanaged; essentially, chronic worry can disrupt daily life and overall well-being.
As a child of God, Jesus knows the harmful effects of worrying about your life or anything else, for that matter. That is why He said, “Take no thought for tomorrow.” (Matthew 6:34) This means that God does not want you to “own” your worries or concerns. He knows all about the littlest to the largest concern that is going through your mind, and He wants to take care of them. God can only take care of your concerns when you cast or pass them over to Him.
I remember when my son, Jacob, was only three years old. One night he was playing on top of the bed. As I was walking away from the room, talking to my wife, we both heard a loud boom coming from the room Jacob was in. We both ran inside the room to see what was happening and found Jacob lying on the ground, crying. I went to pick him up and saw a red line in the middle of his forehead. I thought he might have a head injury with internal bleeding due to his fall. We both prayed that he would be fine and for the Lord to miraculously heal him on the way to the hospital. However, my heart was racing, and my mind took a negative turn. I was worried that he had injured his head and fractured his skull. I was worried that the fall had also injured his brain internally and ruptured the vessels that caused the red line to appear. We had to wait in the emergency room for an hour before the doctor appeared. I looked over to Jacob, and the red line was still visible on his forehead. As the doctor looked at Jacob, he said that he would be okay. I glanced over to Jacob to see if the red line was still there, but I did not see any! It was completely gone! Jacob was smiling at the doctor and looking happy, like the accident had never happened. Praise and glory to Jesus, who heals and performs miracles!
I know that God cares for all His children. So no matter what you are worrying about, you can take that worry and give it all to Jesus to take care of it. Whether it’s your bills, business, investment, an acne on your face, a broken tooth, your test paper, or anything else that might concern you, Jesus knows about it and He knows how to deal with it to give you an expected end. The Lord will accomplish that which concerns you and make it all right for your good.
