“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me…To preach good tidings to the poor”

Isaiah 61:1-2

In every child of God, there resides a power that no darkness of hell could ever quench. It is a power that has created the very heavens and the earth themselves and given life to everything that lives. The Word of God calls this power the anointing. This anointing contains the power of the Almighty God, and it dwells inside every reborn child of God. It is all you ever need to see a change in your atmosphere and your situation around you. This is exactly what Jesus used to destroy all the works of the devil when He was on earth. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 How did God anoint Jesus? With the Holy Ghost and with power. The word power here comes from the Greek word dunamis, which our English word, dynamite, comes from, and it means force, miraculous power, ability, abundance, might, strength, and wonderful work.

Now, imagine for a moment that all of the characteristics of God’s anointing are living and active in you! No demon of hell would dare to get near you, let alone mess with you! Let me tell you the good news: this anointing is already inside of you! When you were baptized in the Holy Spirit, the God of all creation and the universe made His dwelling place inside of your body, soul, and spirit. God has given you the anointing of the Holy Spirit, just as He did to Jesus, with the power to do good and heal all who were oppressed by the devil. But not too many of God’s children realized this truth. Instead, they walked around as if they didn’t have any power and lived in this self-pity party world as if they were the victims of their circumstances.

If you feel that way, I want to tell you today to stop believing the lies of the devil and start believing that you are the anointed child of God, purchased by the very blood of the living Son of God and empowered by the anointing of the Holy Spirit to destroy the works of the devil! This is what God has made you to be, this is the purpose that God created you for, and God’s desire for you to have His dynamite power! So today, rise from where you are and declare from your innermost spirit that you will not allow the devil to trespass into your life, your family, or your loved ones anymore! Instead, you will yield yourself to the anointing every day in prayer and the Word of God until you can feel it flow out of your hands, your mouth, your eyes, your ears, and your feet! Then you will see how God will use you to change the atmosphere around you wherever you go for the Glory of His name!
