Be Bold!
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
Acts 4:13
Boldness. A word that is hardly known anymore in the Body of Christ today. Many Christians think that to be bold is to be arrogant. Boldness is not arrogance. Boldness isn’t for self-gain. Its characteristic has a defined purpose. It is being courageous in standing up against the evil forces of this world through the faith and power of the Holy Ghost that dwells inside of you. It is the unshakable faith in God, no matter what the world says to you or what people say about you. It is real boldness that comes from spending time with Jesus. It is a holy boldness that becomes real inside of you as your relationship with Jesus Christ deepens.
The early church in the book of Acts knew what it was to live in this boldness. They knew that they needed it to preach the Gospel. That is why they waited in the upper room until God sent His Spirit like the sound of a mighty wind. Once they were filled with the Spirit of God, they were never the same. The Spirit of God transformed these frightened and timid people into fiery, bold, and courageous Christians who weren’t afraid to die for their faith amid foreign tyranny and religious persecution. They became the ones who changed the foundation belief of the world upside down through their bold faith declaration of Jesus Christ!
Today, you are called to be as bold with your faith as the early disciples were called to be. You were created to be bold and strong and courageous as your Father in heaven is. If you want to see His kingdom come into your life and the earth, you must decide to live for it and be willing to die for it. For you to do that, you need boldness of faith. That comes when you begin to spend time with God, who is without fear. The God who said that I will be with you to the end of time. The God, who came in the form of man and boldly died for you on the cross to rid you of the sins in your life. The God who has given you all the precious promises in His word so you can boldly declare His love in this dark world. As you allow His Spirit to take over your life, you will realize that you are made to be bold and to win the world for Jesus Christ!
