Probably the only thing that is dividing the Church of God today isn’t over religion but mainly over denomination. The Pentecostal may think it is uncommon for them to fellowship with the Baptist. The Baptists may think it is weird to hang out with the Catholics. The Catholics may think it is sacrilege to hang around with either of them. Then, some from the Catholic side defect from their own and set up another mom-and-pop church to start a new gathering because they disagree with how the church should be run. This went on and on in the past centuries, so that more churches are being opened up each month than there are regular Companies! What these people don’t realize is that the Church of Jesus Christ was born into this new life into One Body, not multiple bodies.

The Scripture indicates that we who are called the believers of Christ are called into one body in which Christ is the head. We are not called into a certain denominational name or titles, we are not called into a certain type of fellowship, we are not called to a certain type of religious teaching, we are called into One Body of Christ that consists of the entire world of believers from different races, backgrounds, and creeds. We are One Body. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have a different type of function when we are called into this Body. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (Romans 12:2) It means that each member or believer are anointed by the Lord to conduct certain type of ministry that is fitting according to their personality, talent, gifts and geographical differences to reach the entire world. In other words, does my hand digest my food for me? Not! I have my stomach to do that. Does my head do the walking for me? No, because I have my feet to do that. Even though I am an individual, my body consists of different members that function or work according to what they are created to do individually.

This principle is so clear to the Body of Christ. Even though another church may worship or preach differently than your church, it doesn’t make it any different than yours, because that’s the way God designed them to function to win the type of souls they are called to win. Your job is to love them and support them! When they are hurting, you go ahead and comfort them and pray that the Lord will heal and restore them. What do you do when you get a bruise on your knee or a broken bone in your body? You give it ointment and a cast and give it time to be healed. You don’t judge your bruise or curse at it because it is painful. You want it to be healed. We need to break down these denominational and religious walls that we have allowed the devil to put between our fellow believers and see that we can’t do anything without them, as they can’t do anything without us. We must bind ourselves with the cords of Christ’s love and work as One Body to win this world over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is our head!
