Today, there are so many translations of the bible available to us when we read the word of God. Currently, the bible has been translated into 2,846 languages in 157 countries. This work impacts 1.11 billion people, or about 15 percent of all language users, who have (or will soon have) new access to at least some portions of Scripture in their first language. It is a miracle that so many people have access to the word of God. On the other side of the coin, however, many children of God do not even take the time to read the Word of God daily, even when they have access to it. It is easier for them to pick up their phones and scan the current news, stock market, and their social media profiles. When they finally do have the time to read the word of God, they will devote a few minutes of devotional time, shoot a little prayer, and go on with their busy lives.

In truth, there are so many wonderful things God wants to reveal to you through His word. He knows the challenging things you could be facing on a given day. He knows when you are struggling with your job, your spouse, your children, your boss, your in-laws, or your neighbor. He knows when you are failing in your business and how you are trying to pay your bills and put food on your table for your family. He knows about your recent medical report from your doctor, which is putting you on edge and causing fear for the future. All the answers that you are seeking to overcome life’s most stubborn and difficult problems can be found in the Word of God. That is the last place that most of us will go to when it should be the first place that we should run to when facing life difficulties.

That is exactly what happened when two disciples were walking on the Road to Emmaus. This was after they had experienced the torture, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus a couple of days before. They were hoping that Jesus was going to redeem Israel from the Romans and become their earthly king to rule over them. They were so filled with questions in their mind when Jesus decided to join them for a morning walk. He saw how sad they were and asked them what they were talking about. Their eyes were strained from knowing who He was, the resurrected Jesus who had just risen from the grave that early morning. During their walk together, Jesus expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself from the beginning at Moses and all the Prophets. You might wonder, why didn’t Jesus just reveal himself as the resurrected Christ from the beginning? It is because Jesus wants them to see Him in the word first, before revealing Himself when He broke bread with them that evening.

The same with you, God wants to reveal in His word, His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Word of God. Jesus has been with mankind since the world was created. He was with us when the world was at its darkest point in need of a Savior. Jesus gave Himself to be crucified at the cross so that you can be forever redeemed from your sins and live a life free of condemnation, guilt, and shame as a result of your sins. He freely gave you the gift of eternal life when you received Him as your Lord and Savior. Today, He wants to continue to reveal Himself to you and grant you more freedom and power to live a life filled with new miracles and testimonies. So take the time today to embrace His word and see how Jesus embraces you to give you the victories you long for.
