“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”

As we approach the end of the age and the soon coming of our Lord, the devil has been running amok. He knows his time is short, and he would do his best to bring as many souls down as possible. We as believers must stand up more than ever against him, ready with all the spiritual arsenal God has given to us. Peter said that we must be sober, vigilant, and alert. We can’t allow our faith to be dormant or asleep. If it is, we must wake it up through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is high time now to realize that we are facing invisible wicked forces that are out to destroy the souls of man and not to mention our very own. We are no doubt engaged in the War of the Worlds.

What do I mean by that? You and I are living in a physical world called the Earth. There is another world that we do not see, which is called the spiritual world. The spiritual world comprises the outer atmosphere of Earth where the devil and his demonic principalities and powers reside, and then, there is the heavenly world where God and His angels reside, which exists beyond all the physical galaxies and the universe. The Word of God declares that the kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violence is taken by force. That means that since the day of John the Baptist, the devil has been trying to protect his territories on the earth by violence, but Jesus has managed to overcome his violence by His force of love at the cross. And the devil had to give up everything he gained from Adam, including his power, authority, and dominion on the earth, the souls of the saints that were kept in the abyss, and the keys of death and hell. He had to surrender all of this over to Jesus when He descended into hell to redeem the holy saints as he pronounced the final judgment upon the devil and the fallen angels.

So if Jesus has conquered the devil, what is our duty as believers right now? We are to engage in this war of the worlds in the heavenly places and continue to destroy the works of the devil wherever they may be found, in our family, church, business, government, schools, media, and so forth, until Jesus comes back! Why? Because the devil thinks that he can repossess his territory by convincing you and me that Jesus died for nothing! That’s the biggest lie of hell. He wants to convince you that you are still sick, poor, and miserable, and that you can’t do anything about it. Don’t believe or entertain his lies! Jesus had finished God’s work on the cross, and we must believe that we have been given the authority through His name and His word to overcome all the works of the devil and gain more ground! You are the victor, and you are more than a conqueror today and right now, so go and win the war of the worlds in His name!
