“The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way:
but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.”
Proverbs 11:5
Do you ever feel lost, like your life isn’t going anywhere? Maybe you’re standing at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take. It’s easy to feel discouraged when you don’t know the next step. But take heart—God knows exactly where you are, and He wants to guide you into His perfect will.
The key to finding your way is simple: surrender control to Him. Imagine driving through unfamiliar territory without a map or GPS. You could try to find your own way, but you might end up lost, frustrated, or at a dead end. Many people live their lives this way, convinced that they are smart enough to navigate on their own. But as the prophet Jeremiah reminds us, “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)
So how do you know if you’re headed in the right direction? The Bible provides the answer: God’s righteousness will direct your steps. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” This means that as you invite God into every part of your life, He will make sure you are always on the right path, fulfilling His perfect plan for you.
But what does it mean to walk in His righteousness? It means accepting the truth that right now you are in right standing with God through the finished work of Jesus. His righteousness in your life is the gift of His love and grace. When you walk in love—the love that binds everything together in perfect harmony—you don’t have to fear getting lost. His love is your compass. The more you trust in His guidance, the more clearly you will see the way forward. If you ever feel unsure or afraid, remember that God is not only leading you, but He is also walking beside you. He doesn’t just give directions—He walks the road with you. So today, take a deep breath, surrender your plans to Him, and trust that He will lead you exactly where you need to go. You are never lost when you follow His love.
