My Declaration of Faith:
I know I’ve made mistakes. I’ve stumbled, fallen short, and done things I wish I could take back. But I also know this, that God has forgiven me. His Word says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). If the God of heaven has already washed me clean, then I don’t have to keep punishing myself for what He has erased.
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners,
but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”
Ephesians 2:19
You may grow up with a wounded self-image. People around you or close to you may have instilled negative labels on you, even when you were a child. “You are nothing!” , “You are pathetic and can’t do anything right!”, “What is wrong with you?”, “You are such an idiot!”, and the negative comments go on and on. When you are deeply wounded in your soul, you can struggle with your identity and go through life feeling like you are worthless and do not know who you truly are.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.”
Psalm 91:14
The past has a way of holding on, making you feel like you can never escape it. Maybe you come from a broken family, struggled with addiction, or made mistakes that still haunt you. No matter where you go, those memories creep back in, reminding you of who you used to be. You might try to distract yourself—changing your surroundings, finding new people, numbing the pain with entertainment, or even medication. But deep inside, the weight of your past can leave you feeling abandoned, unworthy, and hopeless.
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”
I Peter 1:23
The moment Eve took and ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and gave Adam to eat as well, sin entered into the world. The knowledge of evil was released into all of creation, and all the generational seeds of Adam until this present day were affected and made corruptible.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
You may have considered yourself normal all your life. This is because you would think that you are a normal person who goes to a normal school. You may be a worker who goes to your normal job. You may be a mother who raises normal kids. You may be a father who thinks he is living a normal life.
