You Are Fully Known
“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”
I Corinthians 13:12
There will come a time when you can be misunderstood by the people around you. You may be someone who has good intentions to help someone else, but the person you are helping presumes that you have alternative motives. You could be going through a phase in your life when your own family or friends don’t even recognize you because you have changed your haircut, how you dress, how you act among your peers, and what you believe. You may suddenly change who you choose to be around, your preferences, and your outlook on life. You may even wonder why you think and act differently now.
No matter how drastic the change you are going through, you are fully known by God. He knows why you could be misunderstood sometimes. He knows why you desire certain things now over others. He knows why you like a particular person over someone else. He knows why your mood changes and why your emotions can be overwhelming sometimes. He knows your deepest desires and your secret wants. He fully knows you and understands you as no one else can. It is because He created you. He has placed that personality in you that is unique to everyone else. He has given you talents and gifts that are suited for you. He knows your struggles and fears as well as your weaknesses and strengths. He knows your negatives and your positives. He knows how you tick at every given moment. He loves you just the same, no matter what type of person others might think you are. He loves you even when you don’t have the heart to love yourself.
Jesus has been misunderstood by his brothers, who thought that he was only out teaching and healing people just to be popular. The Pharisees even called Jesus a person who was possessed by a demon and used the power of the devil to perform all the miracles he manifested to the people. Peter was also a person who was easily misunderstood by his peers for his aggressiveness and robust character in any given situation. He would have severed a servant’s head, but instead managed to cut off only his ear to protect Jesus from being arrested. He cursed and denied Jesus three times out of fear of going to prison with Jesus and facing the same humiliation as Jesus had faced the night he was arrested. Yet, after Jesus’s resurrection, He came back to Peter, forgave him, loved him, and restored him unto Himself.
No matter what emotional roller coaster you are going through today, God accepts you as you are. He does not judge or condemn you. He is not angry with you because you fall short of what others expected of you. He knows you fully inside-out, and He loves you perfectly yesterday, today, and forever. He has already planted seeds of greatness and wonders inside of you and a driven purpose for you to succeed in life. In the Father’s eyes, you are perfect and beautiful because you are who He chose to die for.
