I Choose to Know God Above All Else

My Declaration of Faith:

There are so many things pulling at my attention, such as responsibilities, goals, opinions, and noise. But deep in my heart, there’s a desire that surpasses them all: I want to know God. Not just know about Him, but truly know Him, intimately, personally, and deeply.

I’m reminded in Colossians 1:16–17 that “all things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” That means me, too. I wasn’t an afterthought or a coincidence. I was created on purpose, for the purpose of knowing Him. That truth brings a steady calm to my anxious heart.

Even as the world shifts and expectations change, God doesn’t. He draws near to me when I draw near to Him (James 4:8). He’s not playing hard to get. He wants to be known. And through every moment of my life: joy, confusion, success, disappointment, He keeps inviting me closer.

Knowing God isn’t just a part of my life; it’s the foundation of who I am. It’s the one pursuit that gives everything else meaning. My work, my creativity, my dreams, they all flow from this one place: a heart fully turned toward the One who made me.

So today, I say this out loud and with all my heart:

I want to know You, God, more than anything else. Let that be the fire that fuels me, the peace that holds me, and the joy that fills me.

Prayer for Today:

Father, give me a single-minded heart. Quiet the noise and distractions around me so I can hear You more clearly. Stir up a desire in me to pursue You above all things. Teach me how to walk closely with You, to enjoy Your presence, and to be changed by it. Today, let knowing You be my highest aim and my greatest joy. Amen.
