I Abide Under the Shadow of His Wings

My Declaration of Faith:

Today, I remember what Mary saw when she looked into the tomb: two angels were sitting where Jesus had been laid, one at the head and the other at the feet (John 20:11–12). It was the picture of the mercy seat, yet the most powerful part was this: the tomb was empty. My Savior had already paid the full price for my sins with His own blood, and He rose in victory.

Because He lives, I live. Because His tomb is empty, I stand forgiven. My hope, my confidence, and my assurance of salvation are secure in the nail-pierced hands of my risen Lord. The mercy seat points me to the throne of grace, where I am welcomed with love. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

So today I choose to dwell in His presence, resting in His covering, trusting in His goodness. I declare with joy: “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge” (Psalm 91:4). I abide under the shadow of His wings, safe, forgiven, and free.

Prayer for Today:

Father, thank You for the finished work of the cross and the power of the empty tomb. Thank You that I can live every day under the shelter of Your wings and draw near to Your throne of grace without fear. Help me to walk today with confidence in Your love and peace in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
