Face The Storm

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,

Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

Mark 4:39

There will come a time when we all have to face a storm in our lives. It may be a financial crisis, a health crisis, or a relationship crisis. The question is, when you do have to face it, are you prepared for it, or will you be overwhelmed by it? You may be facing one right now and wonder when this storm will end. But I want to tell you something: You are destined to face the storm in your life, and you will overcome it. That’s right. For every spirit-born child of God, you are created to take charge of the storm instead of it taking charge of you. How would I do that, you might ask?

When Jesus took His disciples on a little boat trip to reach the other side, He already knew what was going to happen during their journey. Because the Word of God says that while they are in the process of going to the other side, a storm broke out. But Jesus was found asleep in the back of the boat. If Jesus didn’t know that the storm would hit, He probably would have been awakened by the crashing and booming of the waves. Instead, He was sound asleep in the comfort and rest of God’s peace, while His disciples were hanging on to their lives! When they awakened Him from His sleep, Jesus found them freaking out of the big bad storm. I am sure Jesus felt their fear, but instead of being fearful with them, He walked to the front of the boat and commanded the storm to be still. No sooner when He said that, the storm quieted down. Well, that’s Jesus, and you would probably say to yourself, “I couldn’t possibly do that.” That’s when you are wrong.

When you made Jesus Lord of your life, the Son of the Living God and the King of Glory resides inside of you. Your body has become a living temple or a place of dwelling for Him. Do you not think that God doesn’t knows what goes through His temple? Of course, He does. He knows when you are full of doubt, fear, unbelief, anger, bitterness, etc. He knows what you feel and what you’ve been doing, and what you’ve been thinking every second of the day! But He also wants you to know that He is always there for you every single time you need Him. And He said that He has given you all authority in heaven and on earth. That means that whatever in heaven or on earth might try to hurt you or your family, you have been given the power in His name to make it stop! But it is up to you to use it! God never forced anyone to use his authority. But if you realize today that He has given you His authority through Jesus Christ, you will never again be afraid to face the storm and tell it to be still in Jesus’ name!
