Never Halfway

“And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and

will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom:

to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen..”

2 Timothy 4:18

There are times, as we walk and live our lives, when unexpected and unpredictable things happen. You may feel a lump in your body, and it was diagnosed as a cancerous growth by your doctor. You may have come to work as usual, but you receive an email or a note from your supervisor that you have been laid off. One day, things are going “business as usual,” and then the next, the pandemic stops everything, and everyone is in lockdown. You may be going about your normal things at school, and then a negative post about you has been spread in social media for the whole world to see. When you are hit by something outside your control, it feels like your entire life has stopped, and fear sets in to crush every hope your mind struggles to hold onto. You will feel like you can’t go on any further, and this is the end of your story.

First of all, God already knows where you will be and what you will be facing at any time in your life. He is not as surprised as we could be when the storms of life hit us furiously and hard. When the disciples were trying to cross the Sea of Galilee, they were caught in a storm. They struggled frantically, trying to save themselves, as Jesus was sleeping peacefully in the boat with them. When they shouted at Jesus and even blamed Him for not caring that they were perishing, Jesus did not rebuke them. Instead, Jesus was awakened by their cries and rebuked the winds, and a supernatural peace stilled the storm. (Mark 4:35-39) Another time, the disciples were again caught in a storm, and they were stuck in the raging sea. Jesus did not hesitate to try to find another boat to get to them, but he did the impossible by walking on the raging waves toward them! When He got into the boat, the wind ceased. (Matthew 14:22-33) In the end, Jesus always made sure His disciples reached the other side safely.

It is the same with you today, and whatever you may be facing, God has promised to take you through it all to get you through the other side with a testimony and a victory shout. You may be blaming yourself for what happened to you, but God will never condemn you. You may feel like you are facing it all by yourself, but Jesus is right there standing next to you, ready to calm your storm. He knows exactly what you feel, the turmoil of emotions going through your heart, and all the unanswered questions you are dealing with concerning the situation. This is not the end for you. God will not cause you to go only halfway. He has created you to be a finisher. Even when you have no more faith left, God will deliver you from every evil work of the enemy and preserve you in His heavenly kingdom. This is His promise, and it is what He will do as you continue to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. In the end, God will get the glory out of it, and you will see His miracle come to pass in your life soon enough.
